Stedelijk Museum

The Stedelijk museum created a plan to provide the public with a knowledge platform for modern and contemporary art within Amsterdam, in which it can manage and present its collection in an innovative way. Eventually they want to implement an infrastructure where locative media, augmented reality and user generated content can be combined. It will be possible for every user to get an enriched experience viewing art. The Stedelijk can show exclusive art works or create art tours and virtual expositions in the city.
This MediaLAB Amsterdam project was a pioneer designing and creating an augmented reality exhibition of virtual sculptures.

Westergasfabriek

The team of Westergasfabriek created an interactive multimedia GPS game called Westerquest. With the use of a GPS enabled smartphone the player has to run around the park to find lightning coins, in order to defeat the blumblum brothers that killed the light around the park. The main goal of the game is to attract more 18-25 year olds to the park in a playful way.

Spinoza

Spinoza is a Dalton school in Amsterdam-South. It is a school that aims for creativity and culture, and gives students the freedom in the ways they learn. The team created an online, step-by-step guide that guides students in creating a final project for high school (“profielwerkstuk”). It is not only a place for students to get started and find inspiration, but also a place for teachers, where tips are shown on how to help students. Following six steps, the student can be guided through the entire process of creating a big final project.
